Overview:

EsmollolhydrochlorideHcl chemical name (±)-3-{4-[2-hydroxy-3-(1-methylethylamino)propoxy]phenyl}propionic acid methyl ester hydrochloride, It is an ultra-short-acting selective β1-receptor blocker of the aryloxypropylamine class. It inhibits β1-receptors mainly by competing for catecholamine binding sites. It has the effects of slowing resting and exercise heart rates, lowering blood pressure, and myocardial oxygen consumption. At the same time, it has the characteristics of rapid onset of action, high bioavailability, short half-life, precise efficacy, and low side effects. It is currently mainly used clinically for the treatment of supraventricular arrhythmias and acute myocardial ischemia, and for the treatment of acute myocardial infarction and instability. It also has obvious curative effect on diseases such as angina pectoris and postoperative hypertension.
